I was in Peterborough on Wednesday to meet Hilary Gresty, Director of the Visual Arts and Galleries Association (VAGA). VAGA is a membership organisation which represents around 450 galleries across the UK and promotes the presentation of contemporary visual art. We talked about a variety of ways in which our organisations might work more closely. In particular we discussed The Learning Revolution target to open up 7,000 free or low-cost spaces for self-organised informal learning groups (such as voluntary arts organisations) and Hilary agreed to promote the initiative to VAGA members.
